Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes following established recipes and quality standards.
- Plan menus, determine food portions, and estimate ingredient requirements.
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, hygienically, and in compliance with food handling regulations.
- Schedule and coordinate kitchen activities with other staff to maintain efficient workflow.
- Train and guide kitchen helpers or junior cooks in food preparation and proper handling.
- Maintain inventory of food supplies, check deliveries for quality, and store ingredients properly.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistency and prevent food waste.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
- Modify recipes or menu items to accommodate dietary restrictions or customer preferences when required.
- Assist in supervising kitchen operations and ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
